1. Welcome & Introductions

• Introduction of 25-26 school year Board Members

• All attendees introduction and comments 

2. Principal & IB (International Baccalaureate) Update

• Learning lab update and shift of financial goals. 

  • First IB assembly today

  • August attribute is “CARING”

  • Sept attribute is “PRINCIPLED”

  • Math & Language assessments completed

  • Plans for students in need to begin over next month

  • SAFETY: great start so far this year, trying to be proactive before rumor mill gets out of hand, while also getting full story prior to official statement. 

  • Plan to design 3 year budget for use of 75k in savings. SEE CHART FOR PRELIM PLAN. PTC in agreement with MR. Myers has decided to pivot the Learning Lab projection plan to a 3 year support plan for the current art and design lab that we have. Projected Plan for the budget will be attached soon.

  • (Erika recommended assigned Chromebooks rather than different chrome books for each class, sign in/out) 

3. Treasurers Update

• Review and approve 2024-2025 school year financials

• DAWN K 1ST

  • We fundraised/collected $138,680. We spent $62,580 on those fundraising efforts, leaving us with $76,100 to go back to the school. We ended up spending $70,103.

  • About $5500 of the operations is related to Taxes and IRS. There were some late tax filings the IRS was catching up on from prior years, so this will not be as large an expense moving forward.

  • Our big purchases this last year were:

• $16,869 for Chromebooks

• $9,000 for the PYP art teacher

• $6,400 for assemblies and programs

• $6,000 donated to teachers to help with the beginning of the year costs.

• $8,000 for the murals

• $2,425 for shelving for the library

• $2,753 for staff appreciation luncheons

• $2,500 for books for the library

• $1,646 for a PE aide to help Ms. Blate

5. Current & Upcoming Events

    • PTC Members $10, $12 @ door

    • Jog a thon Oct 24th

      • Previous years kids liked spirit aspect, competition to win spirit award

      • Each class had theme

      • PIP(preschool) kids like to be part of it.

• Confirm future PTC meeting dates (as listed on calendar)

• Jog-a-Thon Planning (Blake Heading)

• Volunteer sign-up to help plan event

• Two volunteer parents interested in Teacher Appreciation week and the Family Dance

• Sept 27th cut off for class doughnut party.

8. Open Discussion / Questions

• Concern about crosswalk @ King x Humphrey 

  • Possible PCSO to sit there?

  • Incident after school today; kid almost hit this afternoon, common close calls

  • Mr. Myers to look into crossing guard or volunteer crew, Papa bears were notified, City of Loomis emailed

  • 5th grade teacher thanked PTC for start up funds

  • Sports requested donation of $60, Mr Myers to try to set up scholarships fund on PTC website
